Welcome to Mr. Minervini's Website devoted to students in Psychology/Human Behavior at Guilford High School and the Guilford High School Community as well.  You will be able to access a variety of resources including our Mission Statement, school wide rubrics, class notes, handouts, homework assignments as well as links to Powerschool and other websites.

I will attempt to place assignments on Powerschool a couple days ahead of their due dates so parents and students can plan accordingly.  There is a link to Powerschool under the Links tab.

If you are late to school and miss our class on the day of a quiz or test and are in school for any amount of time on that day, then you must take the test that same day. You will lose 20% per day off the point total for each day you do not take the test and are in school.

 Class Expectations

1. Always treat others with respect; anything less will not be tolerated.  Do not interrupt while your teacher or classmates are speaking.  Raise your hand and wait to be called on. You will be expected to use accountable talk (reference chart will be posted).

2. Students are expected to be in class, on time, prepared with books, an organized notebook, pen/pencil, and willing to put forth effort in all we do in our class.

3. Students will be assigned homework on the average of three days per week. Assignments may include, but not be limited to the following: reading, quiz-test prep, journals, projects, written assignments (essays/response/opinion papers), research, debates, etc.  Some will be scored (points earned) and others will be checked but not graded (credit given).

4. All assignments are due at the beginning of class on the specified date (which will be written and posted).  Any work turned in after that time will be considered late unless a student is absent or there are extenuating circumstances.

Students may make-up homework.  For each day the home work is late, 20% of the total possible score will be deducted; example: an assignment worth 50 points and turned in one day late would result in the total possible points earned being 40.  Homework may be turned in up to a maximum of four school days after the due date; after three school days assignments will not be accepted; again, barring extenuating circumstances.

5. Extra help is available almost every afternoon after school.  Any student wishing extra help should see me at some point during class to discuss the date, time and room number.

6. Use of cel-phones or other electronic devices in class is at the discretion/direction of the instructor.
